We are Australian Medical Placements, you can call us AMP for short. A proud family business, we’re the go-to in medical recruitment for doctors and nurses looking for locum, short-term or permanent roles in Australia.
Established in the early 90’s, Australian Medical Placements originally provided sessional cover to General Practitioners. Taking over in 2003, our director Lyn Barker expanded the business into what it is today. Her background as both a nurse and a practice owner fuelled her passion to change the landscape of the industry.
Lyn’s daughter Jodi, previously a practice manager and long-term worker in the healthcare industry, also came on board and together they drove business success – all from Lyn’s spare bedroom in Prospect, SA! They’ve been matchmaking together ever since.
Being a family business of three generations, we understand the importance of building quality relationships with our locums. Our purpose is to find you a job that you can enjoy on your terms. There’s nothing we won’t do to find you the perfect match within our provider network!

Headed by our Directors Lyn Barker and Jodi Duyster, who are long time industry professionals, we pride ourselves in providing the best possible service to our doctors and clients.
In June 2014, Australian Medical Placements launched its in-house health, education and training division and is the first and only medical recruitment company in South Australia to be offering in-house education and training to their doctors and the health community.
Meet the team
Our team of health recruitment specialists provide a unique personal experience with all our locums. Leading the team are our award-winning directors and mother-daughter duo, Lyn Barker and Jodi Duyster. Both are long time industry professionals with 50+ years of experience and a unique understanding of recruitment & practice.

Jodi joined the company in July 2003. She has many years experience in the medical industry as a Practice Manager and Medical Software Contractor. Jodi is an active member of the Australian Marketing Institute. In 2005, Jodi became a partner in Australian Medical Placements and is the National Director.
Lyn has always worked in the medical industry in various settings including hospitals, Divisions of General Practice, and managing both small and large multidisciplinary, general medical practices for many years before becoming a General Practice Management consultant prior to acquiring Australian Medical Placements in 2003. Lyn’s qualifications include Nursing, Practice Management, AGPAL Accreditation, Financial Management, Workplace Training, Public Relations and Management of Health Services.

Tahlia is the third generation in this family business, and is Jodi’s daughter, and Lyn’s granddaughter. Having been around the business since Lyn and Jodi bought it in 2003, she formally joined the team in August of 2021 after having previously worked as a Hospital Pharmacist in the Gold Coast. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their two miniature dachshunds, Luna and Apollo, drinking copious amounts of coffee, baking, travelling, and is currently undertaking a MBA in her spare time.
Lei has been with AMP since August of 2011, and works as AMP’s marketing manager. During the day, you’ll find Lei with a skim flat-white in hand, but after work you’ll find Lei exploring Adelaide’s best bars and restaurants, intent on finding Adelaide’s best cocktail. Armed with a smiley face and a lethal sense of humour, Lei is responsible for AMP’s social media channels, promotional material and content.
Nicole Adamczyk-Pinder
Senior Recruitment Consultant
Nicole has been part of the AMP team since September of 2013, originally as our administrative assistant and has risen through the ranks to be our Senior Medical Recruitment Consultant that looks after Hospitals in metropolitan SA. Nicole has a passion for lactose-free Iced Lattes (whether its blistering hot, or freezing temperatures), dogs, camping, and sugar cookies.
Deb joined us in July of 2022 as an executive assistant, originally to assist the directors Lyn and Jodi, but now helps out the entire team with her positive attitude and happy disposition; a dedicated English breakfast tea-lover, Deb enjoys playing golf and travelling Australia when not at work.
Cameron, or Cam for short, joined the AMP team in March of 2023. Based in the sunny Gold Coast, Cam works predominantly with hospitals and GP clinics in NSW, QLD, VIC and some rural SA. When not at work, you can find Cam at the beach with his favourite Iced Latte in hand, not matter the time of year. In his spare time, Cam does some pet-sitting for all types of furry friends.
Annalise joined us here at AMP in August of 2022, and has been such a bubbly and energetic presence ever since! With a smile on her face and a Skim Cappuccino in her hand, you’ll find Annalise working with Nicole in Hospitals in Metropolitan SA, but she also works with General Practice Clinics in Metropolitan SA as well. After she’s finished work, she enjoys spending time with her cat, Lewis, and her bearded dragon, Lizzie.
Andy joined the AMP team back in January of 2021, originally working with the AMPHEaT team remote from sunny QLD. Having moved to Adelaide in August of 2021, he started working more closely with the AMP team. Our go-to man for all things technology, he manages our website and our back-end software, and is always working to make our processes smoother and more enjoyable for the user experience. When not at work, you can find him building computers, spending time with his family and his two dogs, or admiring his lawn, with a latte in hand during the winter, or an iced latte during summer.
